I ran in the 5k for the Des Moines Marathon a couple weeks ago. It was fun. Planning on doing a half marathon next year! Can't wait, I hope I can do it :)
Anyways, here is some of the demographics I got in an email after the marathon was over. Look what I highlighted in red. Kinda funny...
Hahaha...

Little tid bits of my weekend
These photos were taken with my new iPhone 4S. We spent the weekend in Des Moines. Here are a few interesting photos taken this weekend:
Kinda boring, I just missed blogging so this is what I posted. Also, notice me wearing polka dots! I hear they are "in" this year. Check out it here.

Saying a slow good bye to summer
I have had a great summer. I am going to miss it. I love summer. Here is a photo of a summer memory. Me and Blackey on the deck one hot summer night.
Things I LOVE about this photo:
-Blackey's face (he is looking at the camera)
-How the picture got cropped. I wasn't trying for the grass on the side, but it was a perfect place to fit text. Couldn't help it.
-My grandmother's silver necklance
-The blurriness of the photo, captures the "in the moment cell phone photo" feel.

The concert
We had an awesome time at the Needtobreathe and Taylor Swift concert last Sunday night. I loved every minute of the concert and spending it with my little sister was the best!

Remember the Picture
In honor of "Remember the Alamo", I wanted to do "Remember the Picture" at the Alamo. I have a picture of Justine and I at the Alamo in June of 2006. I thought, "How fun would it be to recreate the same picture and see how we have changed while we are there."
Enough said.

(June, 2006):
AFTER
(October, 2010):
What a difference 4 years can make. Justine is wearing blue shirts in both pictures. lol.

a time to visit family
I am going to San Antonio with my family to visit more family(Thursday-Monday). We will all be together again just like this picture (minus the sledding and snow activity):

Justine (my little sis) and I were down there in 2005 or 2006. We stopped in San Antonio for the night before we went to Monterry, Mexico for a missions trip. I want us to recreate this pirctures to see how we have changed! I think that would be fun.

Hopefully I will come back with fun stories and pics for my blog! Everyone have a good weekend.

A heart to heart....with words
I am writing a post. No graphics for this post, just words. I am feeling like I need to say 2 things.
First, God has always provided for me. Financially, spiritually, and in every way shape and form. I thank him everyday for the jobs he has provided for me these past 6 months. Granted, they are random, taxing, and I worked ALL the time, and these things made my life the hardest it has ever been. All this to say, I am a firm and faithful believer in God's perfect and beautiful plan for my life. I know he had me at these jobs for a reason. Working at the coffee shop (Cup O Joy) and as a server (at Outback Steakhouse) was not easy. I am so thankful for the people I met, and the things I learned. I also learned a ton about myself. What I am good at, what I am not good at (yes, it may be hard to believe...I am not perfect. LOL!) Anyways, I could go on and on about this...are you picking up what I am putting down?!?
Secondly, I am writing you today with words and not pictures because I have to announce that I am starting a new part time job. Doing graphic design. Praise the Lord! I will be working part time for a company called Documents and Design (D2 for short). Check out their website for what they do. I feel blessed and super excited to start this new job. I will miss the coffee shop, but am pumped to look back and take with me what I learned. I will still be working part time in the nights at the Outback if anyone needs a bloomin onion or delicious steak fix. Lol.
I found this verse about God's timing. It touched my heart.
It is found in Acts 1:7 (this is the Message version of the bible)
He told them, "You don't get to know the time. Timing is the Father's business. What you'll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world."

That is about all I really wanted to say. I love you all and thanks for your prayers :)
I feel them.

A snapshot from last weekend
Last weekend, David and I went to Des Moines. It was so fun. I love it there. I love my family there. Here are the best snapshots from the trip (photographer: Me-simplyJUDYBLIGH). lol.
First stop Saturday morning, the downtown Farmers Market!
Jayne, this breakfast pizza I ate was for you:
Awesome graphic design posters. I took a photo so I could remember it and use it as inspiration:
Walking back to the farmers market:
Next stop...pool. These slides David went down like a billion times. He LOVES water slides.
We went to this Jazz in July concert at the end of the day (we walked from our house, onto the golf coarse to get there):
David got this toy thing that was so fun to play with. I like when it went under the old persons chair!!!!
Play the video:

Happy Graduation Justine
Here is a little re-cap of the Justine's graduation weekend in Des Moines. It was so fun!
GRADUATION DAY (sat):
GRADUATION OPEN HOUSE & RECITAL (sun):My favorite part of the weekend was that it was so long with my family! Thursday-Monday! I didn't want to leave them. The family from TX, and all the family from Des Moines together again! It was such a blessed time for me :)
I didn't get to take David to Snookies, like I wanted. That should be around for a while though...soon we will do that. I also wanted to take him to Big Tomato, but we are never up past 11pm.
I loved last weekend. It was awesome.

WANTED: missing people in 2010
There are a couple people in my life that are leaving me behind in 2009. lol. I will miss seeing these people frequently...
I am going to miss Cassie Risetter (middle) and Denise Melo (right).
My co-workers in the last 10 months of 2009. Spending every day with them was a blast. Getting to know them was a blessing. I learned so much from them, even if it was how much water to put in your crock pot for a roast, or eating the best soup on earth (red pepper Gouda soup, from Cup of Joy) with them. We are all going our separate ways, finding different jobs and such. Time to move on. I have a feeling, a hope, and a prayer we will meet again in the future. Thanks ladies for all you did for me. I will miss seeing you every day! (thanks to Denise for making these Christmas sweaters in the picture above!!!)

I am going to miss the Stark family.

They are moving to Texas because John Stark (my brother-in-law) got a job down there, and when I say "down there" I mean way down there, in San Antonio! Instead of seeing this family about once a month, or every other month, I will probably see them a couple times a year. I can't wait to go and visit. I hope that day comes sooner than later, and during the cold months preferably. lol. We are going to Skype on New Years day. Can't wait.
