Happy Graduation Justine

Here is a little re-cap of the Justine's graduation weekend in Des Moines. It was so fun!
GRADUATION DAY (sat):
GRADUATION OPEN HOUSE & RECITAL (sun):
My favorite part of the weekend was that it was so long with my family! Thursday-Monday! I didn't want to leave them. The family from TX, and all the family from Des Moines together again! It was such a blessed time for me :)
I didn't get to take David to Snookies, like I wanted. That should be around for a while though...soon we will do that. I also wanted to take him to Big Tomato, but we are never up past 11pm.
I loved last weekend. It was awesome.

A quick story

I was practicing my violin for my little sister's recital tonight. I asked David in the other room if he had a pencil on the computer desk, he said, "no". I was to lazy to get up and go find one, so I didn't get to mark my music. I really needed to mark some half steps that I was forgetting to play. After I was done practicing, without a pencil, I was putting away my music stand and a pencil fell off of it. There was a pencil there the whole time. Bummer.

A tribute to my mom

I love you mom! I miss you and I wish I could be with you today. I had no idea it would be this hard. Here is a hug for you today!
I love you, mom,
because I can call you with cooking questions. You know how to explain to me what I need to know/how to do something.
I love you, mom,
because when I was growing up I could always ask you questions I had about the Bible. You are so knowledgeable about these things.
I love you, mom,
because you didn't tell us kids that santa claus was real. This helped the disappointment growing up. Plus, if you think about it...santa claus is a lie. We should all be celebrating the real reason for Christmas. That is not a lie. Wow, random bunny trail.
I love you mom,
because you have always had a clean line for design and fashion. I get that from you. You should have been a graphic designer. You have the coolest hair, way to cool for a mom.
I love you mom,
because I can hear the alto line to any song. Thanks to you always singing it.
I love you mom,
because you can't roll your tongue!
I love you mom,
because you have a facebook account and go onto it frequently.
I love you mom,
because you can sew, just like Project Runway!
I love you, mom,
because nurses as moms makes the best mom. You are so compassionate, but is always knowledgeable on what to do when I don't feel up to par.

I love you mom,
because you are my mom.
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Scones

I made scones this morning. Something that I have always wanted to do. Thanks, Annie, for providing me with the recipe. They turned out great! Here is the recipe with visuals:

CRANBERRY SCONES
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Baking Time: 15 minutes
Ingredient List:
2-1/2 cups flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup butter
1 cup cranberries (fresh or dried)
2/3 cup sugar
3/4 cup buttermilk
Glaze
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon warm water
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Baking Equipment Needed
Large Mixing bowlPastry cutter or fork2 un-greased baking sheets or scone pans (see below)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Step 2: Mix together the flour, baking powder and baking soda.

Step 3: Cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork until it resembles course crumbs. (First time to use my pastry cutter)

Step 4: Stir in cranberries.

Step 5: Add sugar and buttermilk until just blended.

Step 6: Divide dough in half; roll each portion into an 8-inch circle, about 1/2 inch thick, on a lightly floured surface. (hahaha...I seriously used a ruler!)

Step 7: Cut each portion into 8 wedges; arrange wedges on un-greased baking sheets or in scone pans. Repeat with other half of dough.

Step 8: Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes; remove to a wire rack to cool.
You can glaze, but I didn't.
Eat with coffee or tea! Enjoy.

Project Runway update

It has been a little over a week with no project runway :(
How am I doing you ask? Well, fine I guess. Just totally looking forward to next season! I heard there was a project runway wii game. I thought this was fun and I thought I would check out some reviews on it:
I won't purchase this game. But it would be fun to rent it for like a weekend or something!

Oh yeah, I just read that Seth Aaron's collection will be in the July issue of Marie Claire. I will def. be picking up that issue from the news stands!
That is the Project Runway update,

FOXNews.com - Noah's Ark Hoax Claim Doesn't Deter Believers

They think they might have found Noah's ark. If this goes through and it is the "real ark", it would thrill me! To know that something was discovered in my time that I have read so much and believe about from the Bible. Awesome. I hope this discovery is the real ark, and I pray that we can get more information on this! Knowing the world and media, this is not going to be an easy processes.

Can I also remind everyone that God gave us a sign, a rainbow, to remind everyone then and to come that He will never flood the earth again. That was his COVENANT to us, and he has been so faithful to do so thus far.
This photo was taken by David right before we left to go to the Bahamas on our cruise ship. I think this is a neat picture because we where on a boat, just like Noah and his family. lol,
